It was a well-established currency that had been in use for centuries. It was backed by the government and could be used to buy goods and services anywhere in the world. Plus, $100 was a significant amount of money at the time, and many people were not willing to take a risk on an untested currency. The people who chose $100 over 1 Bitcoin were not entirely foolish. After all, Bitcoin was worth only a few cents at the time, and no one could have predicted that it would rise to the heights it has today. The lesson here is not that you should always choose Bitcoin over traditional currency. Instead, it is that you should be open-minded and willing to take risks. New, disruptive technologies can be scary, but they can also be incredibly lucrative. In conclusion, the people who chose $100 over 1 Bitcoin in 2010 made a rational decision at the time. However, they missed out on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a fortune.
