The DWP - Department for Work and Pensions – has updated its guidance for the next of kin or executor for someone who has died who may have been underpaid their State Pension. That’s because they did not get the automatic increase in their pension that they were entitled to. This is relevant for people who reached State Pension age before and after 6th April 2016, and the following groups of people: - those who were married or widowed when they died; - and those aged 80 or over when they died.
