Are you in the unfortunate situation of being in a divorce? These breakups usually go through a lengthy process of dividing assets and your retirement plan may be one of them. Due to the nature of retirement plans, Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) have been designed to bridge the legal gap between Federal laws that govern retirement plans and State laws that govern marriages.
