NOAA delays launch of ‘next generation’ forecasting model and names new acting head

National News by Timothy Sumer - Tests of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s new weather model found that its forecasts for snow depth were “unrealistically high” and that it exhibited a “cold bias in the lower atmosphere,” according to a memo from the National Weather Service.
