Last week, the IRS announced it's cost-of-living increases for retirement plan contributions. The good news is that you can save an additional $1,000 to your 401(k) plan. Plus, if you are self-employed or have a small business, you can contribution an additional $3,000 to a Solo 401(k) plan or SEP IRA. Also, if you have a SIMPLE IRA, you can contribute an additional $500. The bad news is that the IRA limits remain unchanged for the third consecutive year. Fortunately, you can earn a bit more money and receive a tax deduction on your pretax (traditional) IRA contribution. Plus, you can earn more and be able to contribute to a Roth IRA.
