Workplace Wellbeing Day is an annual event that highlights the importance of promoting good health and wellbeing in the workplace. This year, the focus is on nutrition and providing tips on how to incorporate healthy eating habits into our daily routines. In the second episode of the Workplace Wellbeing Day Nutrition Tips series with Sarah Keogh, the focus is on fibre. Sarah Keogh is a registered dietitian and nutrition consultant who works with individuals, sports teams, and businesses to improve their health and wellbeing through diet. Fibre is an essential nutrient that is often overlooked in our diets. It helps to keep our digestive system healthy and can also reduce the risk of heart disease and other chronic illnesses. Sarah explains that there are two types of fibre – soluble and insoluble. Soluble fibre can be found in foods such as oats, lentils, and beans, while insoluble fibre can be found in whole grains, vegetables, and fruits. One of the simplest ways to incorporate fibre into our diets is to include whole grain products in our meals. Swap out refined grains such as white bread, pasta, and rice for their whole grain counterparts. Brown rice, whole wheat bread, and whole grain pasta all have higher amounts of fibre and other nutrients. Sarah also recommends adding beans and lentils to our meals. They are high in fibre and protein, making them a great addition to any meal. Try adding them to soups, stews, or salads for an extra boost of nutrition. Finally, Sarah suggests incorporating more fruits and vegetables into our diets. They not only provide us with essential vitamins and nutrients but are also high in fibre. Aim for at least five servings of fruits and vegetables per day, and try to include a variety of different colours and types. As we spend most of our time in the workplace, it's essential to make sure that our work environment promotes good health and wellbeing practices. By providing healthy snacks, drinks, and meal options, we can help our co-workers and employees make healthier choices and improve their overall health and wellbeing. In conclusion, Workplace Wellbeing Day 2018 is an excellent reminder to us all to take a step back and reflect on our eating habits. By incorporating more fibre into our diets, we can improve our digestive health, reduce our risk of chronic illness, and feel more energised throughout the day. Let's take this opportunity to make small, positive changes towards a healthier, happier workplace. https://inflationprotection.org/episode-2-of-workplace-wellbeing-day-2018-sarah-keoghs-nutrition-tips-for-a-healthy-workplace-with-a-focus-on-fibre/?feed_id=83588&_unique_id=642890363a73b #Inflation #Retirement #GoldIRA #Wealth #Investing #KeoghPlan
