The latest episode of Bloomberg Surveillance on April 24, 2023, took a deep dive into the first-quarter earnings of Big Tech companies. The discussion panel included some of the most notable names in the business world, including Goldman Sachs' CEO, David Solomon, and Carlyle Group's co-founder, David Rubenstein. The show began by highlighting how the five biggest tech giants generated a combined revenue of $1.2 trillion in 2022, marking a 23% YoY increase. The first-quarter results of these companies showed that the growth trend continues to continue. Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Facebook collectively posted a profit of $94 billion, recording a more than 25% increase in earnings, which is a staggering feat for any company, let alone one with a market cap of over a trillion dollars. However, the panelists were quick to note that the tech giants' growth appears to be plateauing. David Solomon pointed out that the companies' revenue growth rate had slowed down compared to the previous year, primarily due to the ongoing supply chain issues and economic uncertainty caused by geopolitical tensions worldwide. Another significant trend noted by the panelists was the shift towards cloud computing. Microsoft and Amazon are the two dominant players in this space, and both companies recorded strong growth in their cloud businesses in Q1. David Rubenstein highlighted the potential for further growth in the cloud computing industry as companies around the world continue to digitize their businesses. The discussion then turned towards the regulatory pressures that have been mounting against the big tech giants, particularly in the European Union. The panelists agreed that while the regulatory environment could prove challenging for these companies, they are still expected to continue to dominate their respective markets. Overall, it was clear from the conversation that the Big Tech earnings had pulled off impressive results in Q1-2023. However, the panelists warned investors to be cautious and monitor the regulatory environment and economic uncertainty that could potentially impact the tech giants' growth in the long term. https://inflationprotection.org/full-episode-of-bloomberg-surveillance-from-04-24-23-covering-big-tech-earnings/?feed_id=93640&_unique_id=6451520b8282e #Inflation #Retirement #GoldIRA #Wealth #Investing #inflationhedgeinvestments #inflationprotectedassets #investagainstinflation #JonFerro #LisaAbramowicz #protectionagainstinflation #TomKeene #InflationHedge #inflationhedgeinvestments #inflationprotectedassets #investagainstinflation #JonFerro #LisaAbramowicz #protectionagainstinflation #TomKeene
