Four Reasons Why Sony FX30 May Not be a Real Cinema Camera In recent years, Sony has gained a significant reputation for producing high-quality cameras that cater to both professional filmmakers and hobbyists. However, despite the company's success in the cinema camera market, there are some concerns surrounding the Sony FX30 that question its ability to be considered a true cinematic device. Here are four reasons why the Sony FX30 may not be a real cinema camera. 1. Sensor Size: A significant factor that distinguishes cinema cameras from their consumer counterparts is the sensor size. Cinema cameras typically feature larger sensors that provide better image quality, dynamic range, and low light performance. Unfortunately, the Sony FX30's relatively small Super35-size sensor falls short in comparison to other cameras in its price range, limiting its cinematic capabilities. 2. Limited High-Resolution Options: Cinema cameras are expected to offer a range of high-resolution options to meet the demands of various projects. The Sony FX30 disappoints in this aspect by offering a maximum resolution of 4K, while many other cinema cameras in the industry are capable of shooting in 6K or even 8K.
