Narinig niya ang usapan ng kanilang mga classmate pagdating ng lunes. “Si Jeanerd ba 'yan?” “Hindi na siya mukhang nerd.” “Maganda pala si Jeanette, 'no?” Iyon ang iba-ibang komento pagdating ng kanyang kaibigan. Iyon bale ang magiging first sports competition sa pagbubukas ng klase at gaganapin dalawang buwan after the school opening. Bagaman siya ang team captain, na kay Ira naman ang loyalty ng kanilang mga ka-team. Palibhasa, lahat ng mga kabarkada nito ay kasali sa team at ang iba naman ay takot sa mga ito. May ilang ngumingiti sa kanya pero kapag nakita ng mga ito si Ira at ang grupo nito, lumalayo ang mga ito sa kanya. Ayaw naman niyang aminin dahil sa mga nangyayari, hindi na siya gaanong nag-e-enjoy sa sports na kinahiligan niya. Kung hindi nga lang ayaw niyang mabansagang “quitter,” matagal na sana siyang umalis ng team. Lumala ang lahat nang abutan siya ng mga itong masayang kausap si Brix sa parking lot ng school minsang hinihintay niya ang kanyang mommy.
