Should I consider contributing to a Roth IRA after turning 50?

"Is it worth contributing to a Roth IRA after 50?" One of the advantages of a Roth is that you can contribute at any age. You can determine the amount you need for retirement and then calculate how much you need to contribute based on the age at which you want to retire. Then you can start contributing. Another amazing thing about the Roth is your ability to make back-door contributions. 📌Save it for later 💯 📌Like, share and comment 👇 👉 Follow @christianiecarty for more Insightful Content 👉 Follow @christianiecarty for more Insightful Content . . . . Take Charge of Your IRA Strategies, Don't Rely on the IRS and Congress!

In this week's Hidden Wealth Reviews, I teach what you can do to remove yourself from the waste of Washington and the Wall Street whipsaw. This week, the Federal Reserve hinted they wouldn't raise interest rates. The market rallied in anticipation of this announcement. When the actual announcement was made, the market dropped, giving back three times the gains it had just made, all due to the wording used in Fed Chairman Powell's statement. If you're within five years or less of retirement or if you're just tying to get better through retirement, I want to teach you how to avoid the whims of Wall Street and the Washington tax waste. To learn how, register now for this coming Tuesday's Tax Protecting Your Retirement webinar. I read a recent article in Forbes that revealed how many people with significant IRA assets are leaving a lot of money on the table by letting the IRS and Congress determine their IRA strategies. The article discussed the importa

Comparing Traditional and Roth Accounts for Financial Planning | Christy Capital | #shorts #financialplanning

Here's a quick explanation of the differences between traditional TSP or IRA and Roth TSP or Roth IRA. Traditional is where you get paid and you put it in a traditional retirement account , either TSP or IRA, before you pay taxes on it. You’re postponing taxes until later and then hopefully your account grows a whole bunch, and when you take a distribution in retirement, it's taxed at your tax bracket. With Roth, you’re gonna go ahead and pay the tax now and put in after tax money and then hopefully it grows, and at retirement you’re taking money out totally tax free. Roth IRA’s have the 2 rules of having a Roth IRA for five years and being over the age of 59 1/2 when you take out the gains. So which one is better? Well of course that depends on your situation. How to Maximize Income with the Social Security Bridge

A Social Security bridging strategy involves spending from your assets after you stop working instead of taking your retirement benefit immediately. There are pros and cons of this approach, but the benefits can be substantial. In particular, you might: ☑️ Maximize your retirement income ☑️ Reduce risk over the long term ☑️ Open the door to tax strategies ☑️ Possibly help improve things for a surviving spouse ☑️ And more But there are no guarantees in life, and there are always tradeoffs. That’s true with a Social Security bridge, as well. For instance, you might be hesitant to spend down your assets while you wait. That’s understandable. And delaying benefits isn’t right for everybody. Whether you have health issues or you just want the income sooner than later, it could be appropriate to take benefits early. Alleviating the Tax Burden of Inherited IRAs

So, you're looking to minimize taxes? On the Get Ready For The Future Show, we're answering YOUR questions! Like this one from Jerry in Sherwood: "Is there any way to reduce the burden of taxes for inherited IRAs; except converting to a Roth. I've just about decided to start reducing it yearly and paying the taxes myself, but I was wondering if there was anything else I could do. I would like to know what kind of an immediate annuity that you have, since that would be one way. I know I could not pass anything to the heirs that way, but it is one option I am interested in?" The bad news is that there really isn't much you can do to avoid taxes on inherited IRAs, especially due to the SECURE Act of 2020. However, there are some helpful strategies to manage them as best as possible, AND you can work to avoid passing the tax stresses on to your loved ones. - ❓ Have your own questions? They were released back in 2019 and focused on Roth vs. traditional IRAs. Modern Wealth Management Managing Directors Dean Barber and Bud Kasper and Director of Tax Corey Hulstein, CPA are going to review those considerations.
