You must have a balance of $2,000 in your 401k account, because the minimum loan amount is $1,000. The loan processing time is about 4 days, depending on how you choose to receive your payment. Payment Mail Options: 1. Check via Standard Mail 2. Check via Overnight Priority 3. Check via Overnight Saturday 4. Check via Overnight International Once you sign the promissory note the loan processing takes about 4 business days. With the Merrill Lynch Walmart 401k Hardship Withdrawal you will be taxed, about 10%, and during tax time there will be another tax of 10%. You can only receive a portion of your 401k.
