How to get a Walmart 401k loan with Merrill Lynch, 401k details, Processing Time, Hardship Withdrawal, Walmart allows its associates to receive a 401k loan up to 50% of the vested amount up to $50,000. You must have a balance of $2,000 in your 401k account, because the minimum loan amount is $1,000. The loan processing time is about 4 days, depending on how you choose to receive your payment. Payment Mail Options: 1. Check via Standard Mail 2. Check via Overnight Priority 3. Check via Overnight Saturday 4. Check via Overnight International Once you sign the promissory note the loan processing takes about 4 business days. With the Merrill Lynch Walmart 401k Hardship Withdrawal you will be taxed, about 10%, and during tax time there will be another tax of 10%. You can only receive a portion of your 401k. The 401k loan is a better option than the Hardship Withdrawal, because there is no penalty, good repayment options, and goes directly back into your 401k.
