The city of Campbell River is committed to becoming a leader in green business and sustainability initiatives. The city has implemented a number of initiatives to encourage and support green business, including a Green Business Program, a Green Business Grant Program, and a Green Business Network. The Green Business Program is designed to help businesses reduce their environmental impact and increase their sustainability. The Green Business Grant Program provides funding to businesses that are working to reduce waste, increase energy efficiency, and reduce their carbon footprint. The Green Business Network is a platform for businesses to connect and share best practices and resources. In addition to the city’s initiatives, Campbell River also has a number of organizations and initiatives that are dedicated to fostering a circular economy. The Vancouver Island Circular Economy Alliance (VICEA) is a network of businesses, organizations, and individuals committed to creating a circular economy on Vancouver Island. The Vancouver Island Circular Economy Hub (VICEH) is a hub for circular economy resources, research, and education. The Regional District of Mount Waddington is also working to foster a circular economy, with initiatives such as the Circular Economy Challenge, which encourages businesses to reduce their waste and increase their sustainability. There are also a number of entrepreneurs and innovators in Campbell River who are working to foster a circular economy. These innovators are creating new products and services, such as the Green Bin, a reusable and recyclable waste bin, and the Eco-Bin, a compost bin. They are also developing new technologies, such as the Waste-to-Energy-to-Fertilizer system, which converts food waste into energy and fertilizer. The city of Campbell River is committed to fostering a circular economy and is working hard to become a leader in green business and sustainability initiatives.
